Rooftop Farm at Via Verde
Melrose, South Bronx
This sustainable, affordable housing complex includes a multifunctional rooftop farm which creates opportunities for gardening, fruit and vegetable cultivation, recreation and social gathering. We worked with residents to plan and organize their farm, to become productive and self-sufficient moving forward, and to run a Fresh Food Box.
As of 2017, GrowNYC is still working with residents on regular garden workshops.
